OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. Sponsor
The Win Alaska 2027 Sweepstakes (“Promotion”) is sponsored by Indigo Alpine Guides, (“Sponsor”).
Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., and their respective affiliates are not sponsors or administrators of this Promotion.
2. Eligibility
The Promotion is open to legal residents of the United States and District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old and otherwise legally eligible to enter into the agreements required to participate in the prize trip at the time of entry.
Residents of New York, Florida, and Rhode Island are not eligible to participate.
Employees, officers, directors, guides, contractors directly involved in administering the Promotion, and members of their immediate households or immediate families are not eligible.
The Promotion is void wherever prohibited or restricted by applicable law.
3. Promotion Period
The Promotion begins September 25th 5pm AKT and ends at October 5th 5pm AKT (“Promotion Period”).
Sponsor's computer systems will be the official timekeeping device for the Promotion.
Entries received before or after the Promotion Period will not be eligible.
4. How to Enter
During the Promotion Period, visit https://www.indigoalpineguides.com/iag-give-away and complete the official entry form with the requested information.
Upon successful submission of an eligible entry, the entrant will receive one (1) base entry in the Promotion.
No purchase or payment is required.
Commenting on an Indigo Alpine Guides Instagram post, receiving a direct message, clicking a giveaway link, visiting the giveaway page, or otherwise interacting with Promotion advertising does not by itself constitute an entry.
A valid entry is created only when the official entry form has been successfully completed and accepted by Sponsor's Promotion system.
Limit one primary entrant account per person.
5. Referral Bonus Entries
After entering, each entrant may receive a unique referral link.
For each unique, eligible new entrant who accesses the Promotion through that referral link and successfully completes a valid entry during the Promotion Period, the referring entrant will receive one (1) additional bonus entry.
There is no stated maximum number of valid referral bonus entries that an entrant may earn.
A referral does not count merely because another person clicks, views, shares, or opens a referral link.
The referred person must successfully complete an eligible entry.
Only the referrer reflected in Sponsor's Promotion records for the referred entrant will receive referral credit. Each referred entrant may generate referral credit for only one referrer.
Self-referrals are prohibited.
Entrants may not generate referrals through fabricated identities, duplicate accounts, multiple email addresses controlled by the same individual, bots, automated systems, purchased or incentivized fake signups, or other deceptive or manipulative means.
Sponsor may use reasonable technical and manual methods to identify suspicious or fraudulent activity, including review of email information, referral patterns, IP information, device or browser information, timing patterns, and other available indicators.
Sponsor reserves the right to invalidate fraudulent or ineligible entries or referrals, subject to applicable law.
6. Winner Selection and Odds
After the Promotion Period closes, Sponsor will conduct a random drawing from all eligible entries.
Each eligible entrant will receive one chance in the drawing for their base entry plus one additional chance for each valid referral bonus entry credited to that entrant.
For example, an entrant with one base entry and nine valid referral bonus entries will have ten total chances in the drawing.
The drawing will be conducted using a random-selection method applied to the final verified entry pool.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries and valid referral bonus entries received.
Sponsor may review entries and referrals for eligibility and fraud before finalizing the drawing.
7. Grand Prize
One Grand Prize package will be awarded.
The Grand Prize consists of two (2) spots on one eligible scheduled Indigo Alpine Guides backpacking expedition during the 2027 operating season, with a total Approximate Retail Value of up to $16,000 USD.
The Grand Prize winner receives one prize spot.
If Sponsor's records establish that the Grand Prize winner originally entered through another eligible entrant's valid referral link, the second prize spot will be awarded to that verified referring entrant.
If the Grand Prize winner did not enter through an eligible referrer's link, or if the verified referrer is ineligible or declines the prize, the Grand Prize winner may designate an eligible guest to receive the second prize spot.
Both prize recipients will ordinarily participate on the same departure unless Sponsor agrees otherwise in writing.
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge departures are excluded from the Promotion.
Prize recipients may choose from eligible 2027 departures identified by Sponsor, subject to available space, trip suitability, operational conditions, and Sponsor approval.
8. Prize Inclusions and Exclusions
The prize includes the services and trip components ordinarily included in the published retail price of the selected eligible Indigo Alpine Guides departure.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the prize does not include:
Transportation to or from the trip's designated meeting location;
Personal clothing or equipment;
Travel insurance;
Rescue or evacuation insurance;
Lodging or meals outside those included in the published itinerary;
Passport or identification expenses;
Medical expenses;
Personal purchases or incidental expenses;
Gratuities; or
Federal, state, or local taxes arising from acceptance or use of the prize.
Prize recipients are responsible for reviewing the inclusions and exclusions applicable to their selected departure.
9. Trip Requirements and Wilderness Risk
Indigo Alpine Guides trips take place in remote wilderness environments and may involve backpacking, uneven terrain, off-trail travel, river crossings, variable weather, wildlife, transportation in remote areas, and other inherent risks associated with wilderness travel.
Prize recipients must satisfy the ordinary participation requirements applicable to the selected trip and must complete Sponsor's standard registration, health and safety information, assumption-of-risk documentation, releases, waivers, and other trip paperwork.
Nothing in these Official Rules limits any rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be waived.
Sponsor retains the same operational and safety authority for prize recipients that it maintains for ordinary paying guests, including authority to modify routes, itineraries, schedules, transportation, camps, or activities when reasonably necessary because of weather, wildfire, river conditions, aircraft operations, governmental restrictions, safety concerns, or other circumstances affecting wilderness travel.
10. Prize Restrictions
Prize must be used during the eligible 2027 operating season.
Prize may not be sold, auctioned, bartered, or redeemed for cash.
Prize is non-transferable except where Sponsor expressly permits a substitution or change in writing.
If a prize recipient elects not to use the prize, no cash refund or credit is due.
Sponsor reserves the right, where reasonably necessary, to substitute an eligible departure or prize of equal or greater value.
If Sponsor cancels the selected trip and the prize recipient has not caused the cancellation, Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to offer another eligible 2027 departure or a substantially comparable substitute prize.
11. Winner Notification and Verification
The potential Grand Prize winner will be notified using the email address and/or contact information provided with the winning entry.
The potential winner must respond within [72 HOURS] of Sponsor's initial notification unless Sponsor specifies a different reasonable deadline.
Before being confirmed, the potential winner may be required to provide reasonable proof of identity, age, residency, and eligibility and may be required to execute an affidavit or declaration of eligibility, liability/publicity release, tax documentation, and other documents reasonably required to award the prize.
If the potential winner is ineligible, cannot be contacted, fails to respond by the stated deadline, refuses the prize, or fails to complete required documentation, Sponsor may disqualify that entrant and conduct another random drawing.
The potential winning referrer is separately subject to the same eligibility and verification requirements.
A potential winner is not an official winner until Sponsor has confirmed eligibility.
12. Taxes
All federal, state, and local tax obligations resulting from acceptance or use of a prize are the sole responsibility of the prize recipient.
The fair market value of a prize may constitute taxable income.
Sponsor may require prize recipients to provide information reasonably necessary to satisfy applicable tax-reporting obligations and may issue tax forms as required by law.
Prize recipients should consult their own tax advisers regarding their individual circumstances.
13. Entry Integrity and Disqualification
Sponsor may disqualify an entrant who Sponsor reasonably determines has:
Tampered with the entry or referral process;
Submitted fraudulent, duplicate, automated, or fabricated entries;
Attempted to obtain referral credit through deceptive means;
Interfered with another person's participation;
Violated these Official Rules; or
Engaged in conduct intended to undermine the fairness or legitimate operation of the Promotion.
Sponsor will not disqualify entries arbitrarily and may investigate suspicious activity before determining whether an entry or referral is valid.
14. Technical Problems
Sponsor is not responsible for entries or referrals that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, or not properly recorded because of technical failures, internet outages, browser settings, privacy software, network interruptions, incorrect information supplied by the entrant, or other causes beyond Sponsor's reasonable control.
Sponsor may correct demonstrable technical errors in the Promotion database where reasonably necessary to preserve the fair administration of the Promotion.
15. Modification, Suspension, or Cancellation
If fraud, technical failures, natural disaster, governmental action, platform disruption, or another circumstance outside Sponsor's reasonable control materially impairs the integrity or feasibility of the Promotion, Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate the Promotion to the extent permitted by law.
If the Promotion is terminated early, Sponsor may select a winner from eligible entries received before the event causing termination, if doing so is fair, feasible, and lawful.
16. Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to identify the winner by name and general location and to use the winner's name, likeness, photograph, voice, statements regarding the Promotion, and/or prize experience for reasonable promotional purposes without additional compensation.
Any broader commercial content production or usage requested of a winner will be addressed separately where appropriate.
17. Release and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its owners, employees, guides, agents, contractors, advertising partners, Promotion vendors, and representatives from claims arising directly from participation in the Promotion or the acceptance, possession, use, misuse, or inability to use a prize, except to the extent such liability cannot legally be waived.
Participation in the actual trip will also be governed by Indigo Alpine Guides' standard trip agreement and wilderness-risk documentation.
18. Instagram / Meta Disclaimer
This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
By entering, each participant acknowledges that information is being provided to Sponsor and not to Instagram and agrees to release Instagram and Meta from any and all liability arising out of or related to the Promotion to the fullest extent permitted by law.
19. Privacy
Information collected in connection with the Promotion will be used to administer the Promotion, verify eligibility, communicate with entrants regarding the Promotion, prevent fraud, award prizes, and comply with legal obligations.
Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with Sponsor's Privacy Policy and applicable law.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Official Rules and the Promotion will be governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute that cannot otherwise be resolved shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Anchorage, Alaska, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
21. Winner Information
For information regarding the confirmed winner after completion of the Promotion, contact jack@indigoalpineguides.com within [60] days after the winner is confirmed.
22. Acceptance of Rules
By entering the Promotion, each entrant acknowledges that they have read and agree to these Official Rules and agrees to be bound by Sponsor's good-faith decisions concerning interpretation and administration of the Promotion, subject to applicable law.
